The diameter variable tool serving both for boring and horning is constituted of: a tool body 31 equipped with a semi-finishing member 35 having bites 35b and 36b attached, a finishing member 36 and a horning member 37 having a whetstone 37b fixed, which are provided in the circumferential direction; a tool-side draw bar 32 supported to be capable of going back and forth on a spindle hole 31a of the tool body 31; a whetstone expanding plate 41 including a semi-finishing tapered surface 32b provided on the draw bar 32, a finishing tapered surface 32c and slopes 41a and 41b; a taper transmission pin 39; and a whetstone interlocking pin 42.
