Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a novel diamine compound satisfying all of fundamental electrophotographic characteristics required in an electrophotography style and useful as a photoconductive material excellent in flexibility.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I {R1 is substitutable alkyl, aryl; R2 is H, alkyl, alkoxy; (n) is 1, 2; X is phenylene, biphenylene, terphenylene, naphthylene, anthrylene, phenanthrylene, fluorenediyl, 9,10-dihydroanthrylene, or group of formula II [Y is O, S, SO2, -(CH=CH)k-, -(CH2)1- (k, l are 1, 2), groups of formulas III-VII; R3,R4 are H, alkyl, alkoxy], which can be substituted}, e.g. N,N'-di(1-pyrenyl)-N.N'-bis(O-tolyl)-m-phenylenediamine. The compound of formula I is synthesized by the combination of the N-alkyl- substitution reaction or N-aryl-substitution reaction of the corresponding amino compound with an N-pyrenyl-substitution reaction.
