Title:
DIAMOND WIRE-DRAWING DIE HAVING PLURAL GRAINS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07214140
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve durability of a die itself, to uniformalize a wear of a dieing hole and at the same time to improve its wear-resistance by improving quality of the diamond of a wire-drawing die material.

CONSTITUTION: A CVD diamond is used as a die material 11 to eliminate fine porosities and foreign materials for an improvement of quality. Each of two wide surfaces of the body of a die corresponds to an upper surface 13 of fine grains which is a second surface at an exit side of a wire, and a bottom surface 15 of coarse grains which is a first surface at an entrance side of a wire. A direction of growth of a diamond crystal is directed from the upper surface 13 to the bottom surface 15, and the <110> direction of the crystal is set at perpendicular to these two surface. Further, a wire bearing portion 17 having a substantially circular cross-section determinative of a wire diameter is located closer to the top surface 13 than the bottom surface 15 and extended over plural diamond crystals 27.
