A diaphragm device includes a diaphragm substrate 2, diaphragm members 3 to form a diaphragm opening, an operation member 6 mounted to a gear box part 17 on the diaphragm substrate 2, a drive motor 11, a drive gear 65 mounted to a rotary shaft of the drive motor, reduction gear 9 rotatably mounted to a support shaft 31, a cover member 10 mounted to the gear box part 17, and a holder member 12 attached on the cover member 10 while holding the drive motor 11. The holder member 12 moves along receiving surfaces 20a, 20b provided on the cover member 10, thereby being attached to the cover member 10, and the movement of the holder member 12 along the receiving surfaces 20a, 20b of the cover member 10 causes the drive gear 65 to engage with the reduction gear 9.
