To provide a diaphragm device which achieves miniaturization in layout of a drive system including a stepping motor while interposing a reduction gear mechanism between the stepping motor and a turning lever for driving a diaphragm blade.

The diaphragm device which adjusts a diaphragm by sliding two diaphragm blades 12 and 13 back and forth in a reverse direction on a diaphragm substrate 10 includes: the turning lever 40 driven to rotate by the stepping motor 110; a pair of driving pins 44a and 44b protrusively provided on the turning lever, and slidably engaged with slots 13d and 12d formed on the diaphragm blades to drive the diaphragm blades; and the reduction gear mechanism 70 interposed between the turning lever and a rotary shaft of the stepping motor. The reduction gear mechanism comprises a pinion 112 attached to the rotary shaft of the stepping motor, and an internal gear 40 integrally formed on the turning lever and meshed with the pinion directly or indirectly through an intermediate gear 60.
