A diaphragm device which controls operation of a diaphragm blade by decelerating normal/reverse rotation of a step motor by a gear train to operate a driving lever includes: a first gear which meshes with a pinion fixed to a shaft of the step motor; a first pinion which is fixed to the first gear; a second gear which meshes with the first pinion; a second pinion which is fixed to the second gear; an output gear which meshes with the second pinion; and the driving lever which is turnably supported together with the output gear. The first gear and the first pinion, and the second gear and the second pinion are composed of common components, and the output gear is fitted to a shaft of the first gear and the driving lever is operated by the normal/reverse rotation of the step motor to control the operation of the diaphragm blade.
