Title:
DIAPHRAGM ELECTROLYSIS METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3896107
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process where ores are leached with a chloride bath by copper refining or the like, and noble metals such as silver are leached with an oxidizer of Br2 or BrCl2- produced in an electrolysis stage and are recovered by Cu cementation, by which the leaching of the noble metals is made efficient, and simultaneously, the concentration of Br ions in the liquid exerting influence on the efficiency in the cementation recovery is reduced.
SOLUTION: The lower part of an anode chamber in a diaphragm electrolytic cell is provided with a cup-shaped trap. The lower part is made to have a taper gradient, and the liquid of an oxidizer having a heavy specific gravity is discharged from the lowest part. Thus, the production efficiency of the oxidizer is increased, and the leaching ratio is improved.
