To provide a diaphragm mechanism in which an opening diameter of an aperture blade can be maintained while reducing consumption power.
A diaphragm mechanism (10) for an imaging device includes: a plurality of aperture blades (16); a driving wheel (14) that adjusts an opening diameter of the aperture blades by being rotated having a center axis line (A) at the center; a driving main axis (20) that is disposed so as to extend in a direction substantially orthogonal to the center axis line of the driving wheel; a sliding unit (22) that is slidably attached to the driving main axis; a piezoelectric element (18) that moves the sliding unit along the driving main axis by oscillatorily driving the driving main axis in its axis line direction; and a driving direction conversion mechanism (30, 32) that couples the sliding unit and the driving wheel and converts linear movement of the sliding unit into rotation of the driving wheel.
