To provide a diaphragm pump enhancing pump efficiency while avoiding the occurrence of noise and failures by reducing a closest distance between the tip surface of a piston and a surface facing the tip surface.
The diaphragm pump for transporting a fluid by the volumetric change of a pump chamber 13 includes the piston 14 changing the volume of the pump chamber 13 by reciprocating motion; a diaphragm part 15 mounted to the outer peripheral part of the piston 14 and expanded/contracted with the reciprocating motion of the piston 14; and a diaphragm cover 16 having a cover surface 16a facing the tip surface 14a of the piston 14. The inner surface of the pump chamber 13 includes the tip surface 14a of the piston 14 and the cover surface 16a of the diaphragm cover 16. The tip surface 14a of the piston 14 and the cover surface 16a of the diaphragm cover 16 are formed substantially in spherical surface shape.
