To provide a diaphragm pump achieving efficient suction by reducing a pressure loss even if an intake air passage is reduced in diameter.
This diaphragm pump includes: a pump chamber 2 formed of a diaphragm 1 and expanded/contracted; the intake air passage 3 for sucking fluid such as gas and liquid into the pump chamber 2; a discharge passage 4 for discharging the fluid in the pump chamber 2; a suction valve 5 provided to the suction passage 3 and regulating a fluid backflow from the pump chamber 2 to the suction passage 3; and a delivery valve 6 provided to the discharge passage 4 and regulating the fluid backflow to the pump chamber 2. A relation between the passage width D of the suction passage 3 and the passage length L thereof is set to less than the passage width D/the passage length L=1.5. Thereby, it is possible to reduce the pressure loss in the suction passage 3 of the fluid sucked into the pump chamber 2 through the suction passage 3 when the pump chamber 2 is contracted, and to efficiently suck the fluid into the pump chamber 2 through the suction passage 3.
