Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm for a redox battery which is excellent in balance between high ion permselectivity and low resistance and exhibits high durability.SOLUTION: The diaphragm for a redox battery is a laminated composite membrane including an ion exchange resin-containing layer and a reinforcing material layer. The ion exchange resin-containing layer contains a polymer (A) containing a constituent component represented by chemical formula 1, where Rrepresents a tetravalent aromatic unit capable of forming an imidazole ring; Rrepresents a (2+m)-valent aromatic group; X represents one or more ionic groups selected from a sulfonic acid group, a phosphonic acid group, a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, metal salts thereof, and ammonium salts thereof; and m represents an integer of 1 to 4.SELECTED DRAWING: None
