PURPOSE: To prevent air-fuel ratio from becoming extremely rich when restarting an engine by providing a fuel supply passage communicating with a suction pipe positioned downstream from an air bleed and a throttle valves in a fuel collecting chamber communicating with the metering chamber of a diaphragm type carburetor.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel collecting chamber 35 communicates with the metering chamber 27 of a diaphragm type carburetor 1 through a pipe 33 with a check valve 34. An air vent 36 is provided on an upper part of the fuel collecting chamber 35 to release steam in the metering chamber 27. A pipe 40 is provided to connect a fuel collecting part of the fuel collecting chamber 35 with a suction pipe positioned downstream from a throttle valve 21, and since the fuel in the metering chamber 27 has been decreased by its evaporation at the time of engine restarting, the fuel is supplied by decrease in fuel discharge through the said pipe 40 from the fuel collecting chamber 35 to obtain proper air-fuel ratio. In this case, bleed air is supplied through a hole 38 from the air vent 36. At the time when the fuel in the fuel collecting chamber 35 has been nearly exhausted, the metering chamber is refilled with the fuel.
