PURPOSE: To provide novel diaryl derivatives having extremely excellent fungicidal, insecticidal, nemtocidal and acaricidal effects.
CONSTITUTION: Desired diaryl derivatives are represented by the formula [wherein A is CHOR1, CHSR1, CHR1, CHCl or NOR1; B is OR2, SR2 or NR2R3; Het is a mono- to trinuclear aromatic 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which may, optionally, have a substituent such as 1-3 halogens, NO2, CN, CO2R4, NR4R5, S(O)nR4 (wherein (n) is 0-2), P(O) (OR4)2, 1-6C alkyl, 3-6C cycloalkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, 2-6C alkynyl, 1-6C alkoxy, benzylthio, 1-4C alkylcarbonyl, aryl and heteroaryl; R1-R5 are each H or 1-4C alkyl; and U, V and W are each a halogen, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxyl and include, e.g. 2-(5-phenylisoxazol-3-yl)- phenylglyoxylic acid methyl ester-O-methyloxime. These compounds show an excellent effect on pathogenic fungi of a wide variety of plant diseases, particularly fungi of the classes Ascomycetes and Basidomycetes.
