Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the novel compound useful as a reversible light recording material, etc., having excellent heat stability, moisture resistance, sensitivity and photochromic properties with excellent durability of repeated coloring and decoloring, comprising a diarylethene-based compound having a conjugated double bond chain.
CONSTITUTION: A new diarylethene-based compound having a conjugated double bond chain of formula I [(n) is 2-5 integer; A is group of formula II ((1) is 1 or 2; R1 is alkyl; R2 to R4 are H, alkyl, dialkylamino, cyano, nitro or alkoxy; P is aromatic group or heterocyclic group); B is group of formula III ((m) is 1 or 2; R5 and R6 are alkyl; Q is aromatic group or heterocyclic group) or group of formula IV ((o) is l or 2; R7 is alkyl; R8 to R10 are H, alkyl, dialkylamino, cyano, nitro or alkoxy; T is aromatic group or heterocyclic group)]. This compound is obtained by subjecting a dialdehyde derivative of formula V, etc., and a given phosphonium salt to Wittig reaction and is useful as a reversible light recording material having excellent performances.
