To obtain a new catalyst for epoxidation of a C=C double bond in the presence of an oxidizer by absorbing and bonding a diastereomer-enriched and an enantiomer-enriched homopolyamino acid on an insoluble carrier material.
A catalyst is formed by absorbing and bonding a diastereomer- enriched and an enantiomer-enriched homopolyamino acid as controlled in a mass ratio of homopolyamino acid/carrier material =1/7-2/1 on an insoluble carrier material. A polyamino acid contains a chain length of 5-100 and preferably cross-linking by a polyfunctional amine, elongation by a polymer elongating agent or the like. The homopolyamino acid includes polyneopentylglycine, polyleucine, polyisoleucine, polyvaline, polyalanine, polyphenylalanine or the like. The insoluble carrier material uses molecular sieves, silicon oxides such as silica gel or zeolite, sugar derivatives such as nitrocellulose or cellulose, active charcoal or the like.
