PURPOSE: To improve light resistance by incorporating specific compound and bonding agent together with diazo compound, coupling component, basic substance in a thermal recording layer.
CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording material having a thermal recording layer containing diazo compound, coupling agent and a bonding agent on a support, the layer contains at least one type selected from compounds represented by formulae I, II and III. In the formulae I, II, III, R1 is lower alkyl group, R2 is alkyl group, aryl group which may contain substituted group, and n is 0, 1, 2, 3. As the substituted group of the alkyl group or the aryl group represented by the R2, alkyl group, hydroxy group, cyano group, etc. are employed. These compounds are contained in a range of 0.1W7g/m2 in the layer. Thus, the preservation property, and particularly light resistance of a recording image is improved.
