NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI(R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is branched-chain lower alkyl; R3 is H, COOH, lower alkoxycarbonyl or lower alkoxy; R4 and R5 are lower alkyl, or R4 and R5 may together with N atom form a heterocyclic group; A is lower alkylene) and its salt.
EXAMPLE: 2,4-Diisopropyl-10-{2-(dimethylamino)ethyl}-8-ethoxycarbonyl-dibenzo [b,f][1,4]oxazepin-11(10H)-one.
USE: A preventive and remedy for circulatory diseases, esp. stenocardia, and completely free of atropine-like activity.
PROCESS: The compond of formulaIis prepared by reacting the novel substance of formula II with the compound of formula III (X is halogen). The novel substance of formula II can be prepared by (1) reacting an alkali metal salt of the compound of formula IV with the compound of formula V, (2) catalytically reducing in the presence of a catalyst, and (3) cyclizing the product under heating.
