NEW MATERIAL:A dibenzoxazepin derivative of formula I (R1 is H, lower alkyl, or lower alkoxy; R2 is lower alkoxycarbonyl; R3 is lower alkyl or phenyl).
EXAMPLE: 10, 11-Dihydro-2, 4-dimethoxy-11-phenyldibenzo[ b,f ][ 1,4 ]oxazepin-8- carboxylic acid ethyl ester.
USE: It has antilipemic activity and blood platelet coagulation inhibiting activity, and is useful as a medicine.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I can be prepared by the catalytic reduction of the compound of formula II in a solvent such as methanol, tetrahydrofuran, etc. in the presence of a catalyst such as 5W10% Raney nickel or palladium-carbon. The compound of formula II is also new, and can be prepared by heating e.g. the compound of formula III in a solvent such as benzene in the presence of a dehydrating agent such as phosphorus oxychloride.
