PURPOSE: To obtain an optically active dichloroaniline deriv. which has a selective stimulating effect on β2adorenergic receptor and a long effective period and which is useful for the treatment or prevention of diseases relating to reversible airway such as asthma and chronic bronchitis.
CONSTITUTION: This compd. is (R)(-)4-amino-3,5dichloroα-[[[6[2-(2pyridinyl) ethoxy] hexyl]amino] methyl] benzenemethanol or its physiologically acceptable salts. The compd. is used for the treatment of diseases which can be improved by a compd. having a selective β2-stimulating effect, and moreover, the compd. is used for the treatment or prevention of inflammation, allergy and allergic reaction. The compd. is produced by (A) deblocking a compd. expressed by formula I (R1, R2 is H and at least one of these is a protecting group), or by (B) allowing a compd. expressed by formula II (K3 is a protecting group) to react with a compd. expressed by formula III and then removing the protecting group, or by (C) reducing a compd. expressed by formula IV or its deriv. having protecting groups and then removing the protecting groups.
