Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a dicyclopentadiene polymer having high impact strength and high elastic modulus.
CONSTITUTION: This comprising a polymerization unit of dicyclopentadiene and having a crosslinking structure is obtained by polymerizing dicyclopentadiene monomers using a metathesis-catalyst system comprising a catalyst and a activating agent. The bending elastic modulus, the izot impact strength with notch and the gel swelling degree of the said polymer are 150,000 psi or more, 1.5 ft.1b/in.notch or more and less than 200% respectively at an ambient temperature.
