To provide a die casting apparatus provided with a lubricant feeding means for improving the service lives of a sleeve and an injection piston in comparison with the conventional apparatus.
The lubricant feeding means 2 in the die casting apparatus 1, is composed of a lubricant feed passage 19 for feeding the lubricant into a gap between the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve 7 and the outer peripheral surface of the injection piston 9, a lubricant feed valve 20 for opening/closing the lubricant feed passage, an air feed passage 16 for feeding the air into the gap between the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve and the outer peripheral surface of the injection piston and an air feed valve 18 for opening/closing the air feed passage, and firstly, the lubricant is feeded into the interval between the sleeve and the injection piston by opening the lubricant feed valve and thereafter, the lubricant is press-feeded with the air by opening the air feed valve. Since the lubricant can extensively and quickly be spread, the service lives of the sleeve and the injection piston can be improved at little lubricant amount with the method in comparison with the conventional method and also, since gas generated by reacting with the molten metal in the sleeve can be restrained, the quality of the product can be improved by preventing the development of the blow hole.
