PURPOSE: To provide a casting die for making an artificial tooth and a method for manufacturing the die, whereby generation of casting defects and drop of beauty characteristics are prevented through prevention of exfoliation of the casting material and seizure with molten substance.

CONSTITUTION: The body 11 of a tooth casting die is provided with a cavity in the form corresponding to an artificial tooth as object, a tubular sprue 13 to introduce a molten substance into the cavity 12, and a crucible 14 in approx. funnel form to introduce the molten substance to the sprue 13, wherein over the surface of the crucible 14, a contacting preventive layer 15 is formed which is made by impregnating the casting material with ethyl silicate. Ethyl silicate is poured into the crucible part of the die body 11 before baking process, followed by leaving at a standstill for a while, and thereby the casting material is impregnated with ethyl impregnant is turned into silica to form the contacting preventive layer 15. At the same time, the casting material is baked, and wax pattern and sprue wax are burnt away.
