To provide a die for casting which prevent molten metal from being intruded into a gap formed on the abutting surfaces where the dies are abutted on each other with a simple constitution, and to provide a casting method using these dies.
Two dies 13, 14 constituting the die 1 for casting, have recessed parts 13b, 14b formed on the abutting surfaces 13A, 14A where two dies are abutted on each other. The recessed parts 13b, 14b are formed as symmetric shape at the symmetric position with these abutting surfaces 13A, 14A as the center at the abutting surfaces 13A, 14A. In this view of the abutting surfaces 13A, 14A of the movable dies 13, 14, the recessed parts 13b, 14b are positioned to the inner part of the movable dies 13, 14 from a range separating a prescribed distance to the inner part of the movable dies 13, 14 from the outer peripheral outline of the movable dies 13, 14. In fixed dies 23, 24, the recessed parts 23b, 24b are formed in the same way.
