Abstract:
To provide a mold removal method capable of safely removing a columnar steel ingot obtained by a vacuum arm melting method (VAR method), an electroslag melting method (ESR method) or the like from a mold.SOLUTION: A mold removal method comprises: a step where either edge part of a columnar mold is grasped by a first tongue in a state in which its longitudinal direction is arranged so as to be parallel to a vertical direction, and the mold is lifted by a crane, is moved, and is thereafter placed on a steel ingot lifter; a first extraction step where a stool is made separable from the mold, and thereafter, a part of a steel ingot is extracted from the inside of the mold; a holding step where, in the state, the side faces of the steel ingot are held from a horizontal direction by a clamp device; a step where all of the steel ingot is extracted from the inside of the mold in a state in which the side faces of the steel ingot are held by the cramp device; and a step where the upper edge part of the steel ingot is grasped by a second tongue, the clamp device is separated from the side faces of the steel ingot, and the steel ingot is lifted by a crane, is moved to a prescribed place, is fallen down at the place and is placed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
