PURPOSE: To clamp and transfer the work surely and prevent the occurrence of mispunching and drawing crease by providing stripper bolts and springs between a lift plate buried with a plurality of permanent magnets and a lift plate.

CONSTITUTION: The work 4 on a base is clamped by means of fingers 5, and is transferred onto the top surface of the lift plate 16 of a die 2. Since the plate 16 is positioned on a blank holder 8, the interference of the fingers 5 with the holder 8 does not occur. Next, the fingers 5 release the work 4, and return to the home position; the work 4 is attracted and fixed by the permanent magnets 19 buried in the plate 16. Next, a male die descends to press the work 4 and push down the plate 16 by overcoming the force of springs 18 while supporting the same with stripper bolts 17, thereby lowering the plate until it contacts the holder 8. Thereafter, the plate 16 and the holder 8 integrally push down cushion pins 12, and drawing is accomplished by a punch 9 while crease suppressing force is being applied by a spring 14.
