Abstract:

PURPOSE: To draw a composite wire rod with force lubrication at a low temp. and large reduction rate of area by using a die for reducing which is specified in the radius of the bell part with respect to the hole diameter of the die and is made to have an optimum approach angle and approach length.

CONSTITUTION: The radius R in the bell part 2 of a reducing die 1 is made to 2mm when the diameter D of a die hole 3 is ≤2mm and is made to approximately the same as the hole diameter D of the die 3 if ≥2mm. The approach angle α thereof is made to 2W30° and the length L of the approach part is made to ≥1.5 times the diameter D and linear. Such die 1 is disposed behind a pressure die 5 via a high-pressure fluid chamber 6 for a lubricating agent by aligning the axial line for drawing. A composite wire rod 7 such as an Al-coated steel wire or the like passes through the die 5 while drawing the lubricating agent therein and enters the die 1 via the chamber 6. Said wire is thus drawn at large reduction rate of area.
