PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition ≤100ppm/°C in the absolute value of the temperature coefficient of electrostatic capacity, ≥2500 in Q-value and ≥1×1013Ωcm in the resistivity at 20°C, by carrying out sintering at relatively low temperatures ≤1050°C without reduction in a neutral or reductive atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be obtained by sintering under the above-mentioned conditions a composition prepared by incorporating (A) as subcomponents, V pts.wt. of TiO2 (0≤V≤10) and W pts.wt. of B2O3 (0<W≤5) in (B) the main component comprising (1) X pts.wt. of barium oxide (on a BaO basis), (2) Y pts.wt. of zirconium oxide plus aluminum oxide [on a {(ZrO2)1-a(Al2 O3)a} (0≤a≤0.5) basis], and (3) Z pts.wt. of silicon oxide (on a SiO2 basis) (where, X+Y+Z=100) with (X, Y, Z) falling within the range enclosed by a polygon A, B, C, D with the vertexes A, B, C, D representing the composition points: A (50, 2.5, 47.5), B (50, 30, 20), C (15, 65, 20), D (15, 2.5, 82.5) in a three-component composition diagram.
