To provide dielectric ceramics hardly contaminated by impurities in a combustion synthesis reaction with easy control of adiabatic flame temperature in a combustion synthesis process, and a method for producing the same.
The dielectric ceramic is obtained by blending reactive raw materials including at least group IV element-containing metal powder having a specific surface area of 0.01-2 m2/g and a material as an oxygen supply source in a predetermined ratio, and applying a combustion synthesis process at an adiabatic flame temperature of ≥1,500°C, wherein the reactive raw materials include the same material as the dielectric ceramics and the same material is at least one selected from a commercial item of the dielectric ceramics and dielectric ceramics preliminarily synthesized by the combustion synthesis process.
