To provide a silica-compounded diene rubber composition, in which pulverized vulcanized rubber having higher strength and reinforcing property compared to conventional waste tire recycled powder rubber is compounded as a component (recycled rubber component).

The diene rubber composition is prepared by compounding 3 to 30 pts.wt of modified pulverized vulcanized rubber obtained by allowing pulverized vulcanized rubber to sequentially react with a compound having a nitroxide free radical and with a radical-polymerizable monomer containing an alkoxysilyl group or an aryloxysilyl group, not less than 20 pts.wt of silica, and a sulfur-containing silane coupling agent in an amount corresponding to 3 to 15 wt.% of the silica, per 100 pts.wt of diene rubber.
