To provide a diesel engine lubricated with fuel such as diesel oil, capable of avoiding supply of fuel after being highly contaminated to an injection system to the utmost, and satisfying demand for lubricant that is different in respective engine parts.
This engine 1 is provided with a lubrication system fuel supply passage 8 to supply fuel from an oil pan 3 to an engine lubrication system 7, a first lubrication system fuel return passage 11 to return the fuel supplied to the lubrication system fuel supply passage 8 to the oil pan 3, an injection system fuel supply passage 13 to supply fuel from the oil pan 3 to an injection system 12, a second fuel supply passage 18 to supply fuel from a fuel tank 2 to a head 17, and a second lubrication system fuel return passage 21 to return the fuel supplied to the second fuel supply passage 18 to the fuel tank 2.
