Abstract:
To provide an IDI type (sub chamber type) diesel engine in which eddy currents are promoted to improve combustion efficiency with further diligent research.SOLUTION: In a Diesel engine, a main combustion chamber and a sub chamber 6 provided at a location eccentric from the main combustion chamber are communicated with each other through an injection hole 9, the injection hole 9 is formed in a biplane-shaped hole in which a main injection hole 15 and a pair of sub injection holes 17, 17 arranged on both sides of the main injection hole 15 are connected, the sub injection hole 17 is set to such a horizontally long hole that a length D2 in an arrangement direction in which the pair of sub injection holes 17, 17 are lined up in an axis p direction view of the injection hole 9 or an axis direction of the piston is larger than a length t2 in a direction intersecting with the arrangement direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
