To provide a different speed rolling mill which is made so that rolling forces which act on a rolled stock are differently distributed in the width direction and the distribution patterns are easily adjusted during rolling and to remarkably reduce the generation of edge drop and crown as compared with a conventional different speed rolling mill.
This rolling mill is composed so that the sum of mutual roll diameters in rolling barrel parts 2a, 3a of a pair of rolling rolls 2, 3 is approximately constant at each position in the axial direction and diameter difference is imparted to each rolling barrel part 2a, 3a so that each rolling roll 2, 3 is respectively symmetric to the center line and the ratio of the number of rotation of each rolling roll 2, 3 is changeable. In such a manner, the rolling forces which act on the rolled stock 1 are differently distributed in the width direction and the distribution pattern is easily adjusted during rolling by changing the ratio of the number of rotation of each rolling roll 2, 3.
