Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device capable of connecting/disconnecting driving force transmission, and capable of suppressing increase in weight and size of a differential case.SOLUTION: A differential device 1 includes: a differential mechanism 3 for distributing an inputted driving force to a pair of side gears 32 by allowing a differential; a differential case 2 for storing the differential mechanism 3; and a clutch mechanism 4 for transmitting the driving force between the differential case 2, the differential mechanism 3 and a pinion shaft 30. The clutch mechanism 4 includes: a slide member 5 which is capable of relatively moving and incapable or relatively rotating in an axial direction of the differential case 2 with respect to the pinion shaft 30 of the differential mechanism 3 in the differential case 2; and an actuator 6 for imparting a movement force in the axial direction to the slide member 5. The slide member 5 has a first meshing part 51 at one end part. The differential case 2 includes: a disc-shaped first case member 21; and a bottomed-cylindrical second case member 22 for storing the differential mechanism 3.
