Abstract:
To provide a differential device in which at least a part of a pinion shaft overlaps a ring gear when viewed on the projection plane orthogonal to the pinion shaft at a regular mounting position, and it is not necessary to expand a hole on a differential case that serves as the pinion shaft support for avoiding interference with the ring gear upon assembling the pinion shaft so as to reduce restrictions on the shape of the ring gear and the like.SOLUTION: A differential case 8 has a shaft insertion hole 8bh that is separated from a pinion shaft supports 81 and 82 and allows a pinion shaft 21 to pass through. The shaft insertion hole is at a position where it allows the pinion shaft to be inserted to a pinion gear 22 inside the differential case from outside the differential case to a predetermined insertion end position 21E while not interfering with the ring gear 9. An inner surface of the differential case may accept both ends of the pinion shaft inserted up to the insertion end position 21E and has a shaft moving groove 41 that allows movement of both ends from the accept position to the pinion shaft support.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
