Abstract:
To provide a cooling mechanism of a differential device which prevents deterioration in power transmission loss by suppressing generation of drive loss due to associative rotation of lubricant by a drive pinion shaft.SOLUTION: A differential device 1 includes: a drive pinion shaft 10; a differential carrier 2 having a hypoid gear chamber 4 and a shaft chamber 5; a temperature sensor 41 for detecting the temperature of lubricant inside the hypoid gear chamber 4; and a lubricant control device 30 provided in the shaft chamber 5 and having a drive unit 33 for extending or shrinking a liquid suction unit 31 for sucking the lubricant flowing from the hypoid gear chamber 4 into the shaft chamber 5. When the lubricant inside the hypoid gear chamber 4 reaches the predefined temperature, the control unit 40 drives and controls the drive unit 33 to shrink the liquid suction unit 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
