Abstract:
To provide a differential device capable of reducing a load to a weld.SOLUTION: A differential device 1 comprises: an annular input gear 3 to which drive power is inputted; a differential case 5 which is provided in an integrally rotatable manner with the input gear 3; a pinion 7 as a differential gear which can be rotated while being supported by the differential case 5 and is revolved by rotation of the differential case 5; and side gears 9 and 11 as a pair of output gears that can be relatively rotated while being meshed with the pinion 7. In the differential device, a support part 13 to which an inner peripheral surface of the input gear 3 and an outer peripheral surface of the differential case 5 are abutted by a shrink fit to each other is provided between the input gear 3 and the differential case 5 in a radial direction. A weld 15 for integrally fixing the input gear 3 and the differential case 5 is provided in an axial outside end of the support part 13. A radius R of the support 13 is set between a radius range in which press-fit power subtracted from a maximum value by 10% can be obtained and a radius range in which a slip torque subtracted from a maximum value by 10% can be obtained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
