Title:
DIFFERENTIAL GEAR WITH DIFFERENTIAL LIMITING MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2620429
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the extent of torque in a quadratically curved manner in relation to differential rotation as well as to prevent a tight corner braking phenomenon from occurring by installing a differential limiting hydraulic power transmission coupling in space between a differential case and a single side gear.
CONSTITUTION: When a speed difference is not produced between both symmetrical wheels, driving force is uniformly transmitted to a symmetrical pair of side gears 26 from a pinion gear 23 via a differential case 21. If this speed difference is produced between these wheels, differential motion is carried out by rotation of the pinion gear 23. In brief, if the speed difference is produced between the differential case 21 and a rotor 24, a plunger 29 in a discharge stroke is thrust in by a cam face 27 of the differential case 21, while a suction- discharge hole 31 leads to a discharge port 34 and oil in a plunger chamber 28 is extruded to this discharge port 34 of a rotary valve 32 from the discharge hole 31, and fed to a suction port 33 by way of an orifice 35. At this time, hydraulic pressure in the plunger chamber 28 goes up by dint of resistance of the orifice 35, whereby a reaction is generated in the plunger 29, and it rotates against this reaction, thus torque is transferred.
