To provide a differential gear in which a bearing of low torque is used in place of a tapered roller bearing to thereby improve the fuel consumption and solve the problem of increase in costs.
The differential gear includes a pair of anti-friction bearings 10, 11 which rotatably support a differential casing 5 in a differential carrier 1. An oblique-contact ball bearing of two or more rows is utilized as the bearing 11 which is located on the side far from the position where a pinion gear 3 and a ring gear 4 engage with each other. The angles and directions of contact of the respective rows of the oblique-contact ball bearing 11 are the same as each other. Further, the orbital curvature of an inner ring 16 of the oblique-contact ball bearing 11 is not larger than 51% of the diameter of a ball 18.
