Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable durability of an electrolyte membrane to be improved by favorably suppressing breakage of the electrolyte membrane in a high pressure operation.SOLUTION: A differential pressure-type high pressure apparatus 10 for electrolyzing water includes an electrolyte membrane electrode structure 32 constituted by providing an anode electrode catalyst layer 41 and a cathode electrode catalyst layer 43 on both sides of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 40, and an anode power-feeding body 42 and a cathode power-feeding body 44 arranged on both sides of the electrolyte membrane electrode structure 32. A protective sheet member 52 formed with a lot of piercing holes 52a is disposed between the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 40 and the anode power-feeding body 42, and a powder 62 having conductivity is arranged in the piercing holes 52a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
