To provide a differential settlement preventing structure of a building, using piles, which can effectively prevent differential settlement of the building even if the piles are not driven to a solid bearing layer.
In implementation of the differential settlement preventing structure of the building, the plurality of piles 5, 5, etc. are driven into the ground 3 under a foundation 4 of the building 1, and the piles 5, 5, etc. are connected to the foundation 4 in a rigidly jointed state. Further, each pile 5 has a vertical plate 9 attached to the tip thereof, for instance, that overhangs sideways. If a surface layer of the ground in a region where the piles 5, 5, etc. are driven, is very fragile, it is desirable that the surface layer is subjected to soil improvement.
