Abstract:
To provide a differential type caster capable of mounting an encoder safely and easily.
This differential type caster consists of a mounting plate 5, a spindle 8 supported in the mounting plate 5 rotatably, a pair of electric motors 12, 12 provided in one end of the spindle 8, and a pair of wheels 35, 35 respectively engaged with the output shafts 17, 17 of the electric motors 12, 12. The encoder body 70 of the encoder 11 detecting the rotational angle of the spindle 8 is mounted in the mounting plate 5 via an encoder spring 34. The encoder spring 34 is configured to prevent the movement of the encoder body 70 relative to the hollow shaft 71 of the encoder 11 in the axial direction.
