Abstract:
PURPOSE: To smoothly shift a weight with a high response.
CONSTITUTION: In an active mass damper controlling the vibration of a medium/ high-story building by wind or an earthquake via the amplitude shift of a weight 1 installed in the medium/high-story building, at least two motors 5 driving the weight 1 are provided, and two motors 5 are invariably rotated in the fixed direction without being reversed. The shift direction of the weight 1 is changed by the magnitudes of their rotating speeds, the shift quantity of the weight 1 is changed by the absolute value of the difference between the rotating speeds, thus the weight 1 is smoothly shifted with high response.
