Abstract:

To surely prevent slipping-out of a pinion shaft, without having adverse influence on assembling work efficiency of a differential, without using a pin and a cover like a conventional example, in the differential for rotatably supporting two pinion gears by a differential case via a pinion shaft.

The pinion shaft 15 is constituted by joining two pinion pins 20 and 30 in series. Tapered parts 21 and 31 are arranged on the respective outer end sides of the pinion pins 20 and 30. Two through-holes 61 and 62 arranged in an area opposed by 180 degrees in a peripheral wall part of the differential case 6, are formed in a tapered shape in the respective tapered parts 21 and 31. Joining means 22 and 32 are arranged at respective inner end sides of both pinion pins 20 and 30 for nonseparably joining both pinion pins 20 and 30 in such a state that both pinion pins 20 and 30 are individually inserted into the respective through-holes 61 and 62 from the outside thereof, and that the tapered parts 21 and 31 are fitted to the respective through-holes 61 and 62.
