Abstract:
To provide methods of in vitro differentiation of primate pluripotent stem cells (pPS) into hematopoietic lineage cells.SOLUTION: The invention provides methods of differentiating primate pluripotent stem cells into cells of hematopoietic lineage using a plurality of exogenous cytokines including the granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and the bone morphogenic protein 4 (BMP-4). The methods further include a step of contacting the primate pluripotent stem cells with one or more of the following; vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), stem cell factor (SCF), fetal liver kinase ligand (FLT3L), thrombopoietin (TPO), interleukin 4 (IL-4) and interleukin 3 (IL-3).SELECTED DRAWING: None
