Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the stereoscopic image display device which can easily display a stereoscopic image having parallax only laterally or both laterally and longitudinally and can be mass-produced at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: A cell 1 is formed of a diffraction grating formed by arranging curve-shaped gratings in parallel while the grating intervals are varied, and plural cells are arrayed on a plane substrate; and the cells 1 are divided spatially, laterally, or laterally and longitudinally in an area where gradient or grating intervals are close and respective divided area are made to be respective parallax images (one direction) to form the diffraction grating array 1. This device is equipped with this diffraction grating array 11 as a basic device and displays the stereoscopic image having the parallax only laterally.
