Abstract:
To provide an improved light converging device.
The converging device which is a diffraction type converging device includes a light-transmissive substrate and a plurality of selective light- nontransmissive elements which are formed as part of the light-transmissive substrate and can electronically operate. Specific selective light-nontransmissive elements among the plurality of elements are made substantially opaque or transparent to light to form light-transmissive channels in the light-transmissive substrate, and the diffraction characteristics of the diffraction type converging device vary with the pitch of the light-transmissive channels.
