Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast reception technology by which a receiver side can quickly cope with switching of a mode or a guard interval with an arbitrary timing on a transmitter side.
SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver extracts a demodulated valid symbol from an orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal in cross-reference with a succeeding time zone on the basis of switching index information, obtains a demodulated signal on the basis of the valid symbol, decides a transmission mode having a valid symbol period and the guard interval compatible with the succeeding time zone on the basis of current and succeeding transmission parameters, extracts a coded data signal from the demodulated signal corresponding to the decided transmission mode and decodes the data signal.
