In the case of inserting audio data based on compressed internal audio data, a storage device reads compressed internal audio data at a break of packetized elementary stream(PES) packet of compressed broadcast audio data outputted from a transport stream(TS) separation circuit 1. The digital broadcast receiver is provided with a means that switches a selection circuit 2 to select the compressed internal audio data, and with a means that counts number of PES packets of the compressed broadcast audio data outputted from the TS separation circuit 1 and switches the selection circuit 2 so that the selection circuit 2 selects the compressed broadcast audio data outputted from the TS separation circuit 1 when the count reaches the number of PES packets corresponding to the compressed internal audio data amount to be inserted.
