To provide a digital broadcast transmission apparatus having a high failure resistance.SOLUTION: A digital broadcast transmission apparatus according to an embodiment comprises a first antenna, a second antenna, a modulation part, a first transmitter, a second transmitter, a switching part, a detection part, and a switching control part. The modulation part generates a first modulation signal modulated by a main signal and a second modulation signal modulated by a sub-signal of the main signal. The first transmitter converts an inputted signal to a broadcast band and transmits it from the first antenna by a first polarized wave. The second transmitter converts an inputted signal to the broadcast band and transmits it from the second antenna by a second polarized wave. At a normal time, the switching part inputs the first modulation signal into the first transmitter and inputs the second modulation signal into the second transmitter. The detection part detects a failure of the first transmitter. When a failure of the first transmitter is detected, the switching control part controls the switching part so that the first modulation signal is inputted into the second transmitter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
