The digital camera (11 to 25) includes a detecting means (19) and a photographing means (19). The detecting means detects the existence/absence of a region of an undesired shadow that occurs in a field on the basis of a monitored image of the field. The photographing means forcibly makes stroboscopic light to be emitted during photographing when the detecting means detects the undesired shadow. Otherwise, the digital camera (11 to 25) includes the detecting means (19) and an adjusting means (19). The detecting means detects a shadow region being the region of an undesired shadow reflected in a photographed image. The adjusting means makes the brightness of a shadow region close to the brightness of a non-shadow region when the detecting means detects the shadow area.
